Natural Healthy Remedies For Dry Skin

If you are suffering from chronic dry, cracked and peeling skin you could be suffering from a medical disorder that may requires a visit to a physician. If your skin is dry, a little flaky and itches then you may just be suffering from dry winter skin itch.

Dry skin can be caused by nutritional or vitamin deficiencies, environmental causes, or as mentioned above a chronic disease or skin disorder. What can you do about your dry skin?
If you are suffering from dry winter skin then there are a few natural remedies that can be used to treat dry itchy skin.

Moisturize after bathing or washing your hands. A few drops of olive oil or coconut oil work very well. Coconut oil is actually a semi solid fat that you can buy, I prefer the organic form. It can be used on your skin, in stir fry, and baking.

Supplements:
Omega-3 fatty acids:

  • Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA)
  • Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)
  • Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)
  • (Fish oil capsules)

Fish oil forms healthy membranes around your cells helping to plump up with water and keep your skin hydrated. Omega 3 fatty acids help provide more oxygen and a richer blood supply to your cells too. Dosage Take 500 to 1,000 milligrams of fish oil

Omega-6 fatty acids:

  • Linoleic acid (LA)
  • Gamma linolenic acid (GLA)
  • Dihomo-gamma-linolenic acid (DGLA)
  • Arachidonic acid (AA)

Omega-6 fatty acids come from plants. They can include Flax seed oil, sunflower seed oil, pumpkin seeds.
Borage oil or Evening primrose oil liquid or liquid capsules. Dosage 1,000 milligrams Red or inflamed skin can benefit from taking these supplements.

Vitamin E plumps the skin but can cause some breakouts if your skin is sensitive, you can try taking a dry E formula and still get the same results. Dosage 400 to 1,000 IUs

Zinc helps fatty acids assimilate, or absorb better. Dosage 50 mg

WHAT DOES THE DOCTOR HAVE TO SAY?

dry skin treatment, dry skin remedies,

Topical Skin Oils:

  • Organic Coconut oil
  • Organic Olive Oil

If you have a dry itchy, flaking scalp do not use shampoos that contain Sodium Laureth Sulfate.

Instead choose shampoos with natural ingredients:

Rosemary oil, lavender oil, geranium oil, chamomile oil, tea tree oil can be beneficial if you suffer from dandruff, but can be over drying and cause more flakes if you do not have dandruff.

The chlorine that is pumped into our homes to make our water safe is not good for your skin, or your health. Filter your water that comes from the tap before you drink it.

Put a chlorine filter on your shower head, that is replaceable, and you will notice a decrease in your dry skin and scalp pretty quickly.

Use only fragrance-free soaps, and alcohol-free lotions.

Use a humidifier at home, and when you sleep.

If you have dandruff you want to treat the cause not cover it up. Unfortunately most store bought products do just that. So, what are the causes of dandruff, so that you can treat it?

ConditionsThat Contribute To The Onset Of Dandruff   Dry skin can be one cause

  • Failure to keep the hair clean, oil, old skin cell build up and flake off
  • Hormonal Changes
  • Immune suppressed diseases such as Lupus, Parkinson Disease
  • Seborrheic Dermatitis is a condition where your oil glands get irritated and over produce oil, in your hair, eyebrows, nose areas, groin area
  • Psoriasis a condition that causes dead skin to pile up and become scaly

  • Malassezia or yeast like fungus that feeds on scalp oil, can irritate, and build up skin cells that flake off                                       OREGANO OIL FOR DANDRUFF

Men due to hormones, thicker skin, more oil glands tend to have more dandruff.  Women suffer from dandruff too, but less than men. If you eat a poor diet of many processed food this can have an unhealthy affect on your immune system, and many internal pollutants become evident as displayed as skin conditions.

Have you heard of a cooper brush helping to alleviate the symptoms, and reduce dandruff, well it works, and it may not cure dandruff, but I have found it to be very helpful in making my scalp less irritated, and having to use daily treatments for dandruff. Definitely increase your omega 3 fatty acids, zinc, and B-complex vitamins, oregano oil has anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties that work very well. If you have gone through my posts you know I am a big fan of Emu Oil. It is one of the best products that treats inflammatory reactions, such as eczama, dandruff, arthritis, acne, Emu Oil is the best wrinkle reducer, and skin softner and more. I told you I love this stuff….Great stuff, give some of these natural healthy remedies a try these and along with the copper brush used daily can make a big difference. Natural Dandruff Remedies that Really Works Natural Dandruff Remedies that Really Works

by Nick Mutt

Dandruff is an extremely annoying skin disorder of the scalp. It is a problem that affects half of the world population. There are many natural dandruff remedies that may help you to get rid of dandruff.

1. One of the common natural dandruff remedies is tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is an important ingredient of many anti-dandruff shampoos.

2. Add two spoonfuls pure vinegar in six spoonfuls water, and apply it on the scalp with cotton wool before going to bed. Wash your hair next morning. After shampooing, rinse again with vinegar water. Continue this once a week for at least three months.

3. Use a medicated anti-dandruff shampoo. It will reduce the speed of the growth of the cells on the scalp, thus lessening the cell replacement and decreasing the amount of dandruff. The shampoo should also have an antiseptic that will help prevent infection of your scalp so as to reduce itchiness.

4. Stop using hairsprays, gels and hair-coloring products. They are the main culprit that harms your hair and scalp.

5. Another natural dandruff remedy is neem oil. It gives relief from itchiness and redness of scalp associated with dandruff and psoriasis conditions.

6. Restrict yourself from changing shampoos everyday and stick to one that suits your constitution and scalp condition. Always keep the scalp clean by regular cleansing to prevent hair fall and other hair related problems.

7. Mix one teaspoon lemon juice with two teaspoons vinegar. Massage this mixture to the scalp. After massaging, apply egg shampoo to the hair. This is a very common natural dandruff remedy.

8. Boil two cups dried thyme and water in a span of 10 minutes. When the concoction cools, massage the hair and scalp and let it stay for half an hour. Then wash with water.

Discover Ayurvedas Natual Healthy Remedies & Treatments

Ayurveda is a 5000 year old system of natural healing that has its origins in the Vedic culture of India, and is thought to be the oldest medical systems in the world.

Though suppressed during years of foreign occupation, Ayurveda has been enjoying a major renewal in both its local land and through the world.

It is a extensive system of treatments that emphasizes the interconnectedness of the body, mind and spirit and strives to maintain the inner balance and unity of the individual. More than an insignificant system of treating sickness, Ayurveda is a science of life ( Ayur = life, Veda = science or data ). It offers a body of knowledge engineered to help people  stay focused  while realizing their full human potential. Every one of us has a singular proportion of these 3 forces that shapes our nature.

The basis of Ayurveda is the three doshas (humours), which are vata (air), pitta (bile) and kapha (phlegm).

If Vata is dominant in our system we are:

  • Thin
  • Light
  • Aware
  • Energetic
  • Changeable

If Pitta predominates in our nature we are:

  • Intense
  • clever
  • Goal-oriented
  • Have a robust taste for life.

If Kapha prevails we have a tendency to be
:

  • Easy-going
  • Methodical
  • Nurturing

Although everyone has all 3 forces, most of us have one or 2 elements that are far more prominent and open for people to see. For each component, there's a balanced and imbalance expression.

  • When Pitta is working in a balanced manner, an individual is warm, friendly, trained, a good leader and a good spokesman.
  • When the fire component is out of alignment, somebody has a tendency to be compulsive, irritable and may suffer from indigestion or an inflammatory condition.
  • When Kapha is balanced, somebody is sweet, supportive and stable but when it is misaligned, an individual may experience sluggishness, weight gain and sinus congestion.

Ayurvada is founded in the elements from which they arise, increase and decrease in the body according to the properties (qualities) of the body; qualities, which we derive from our food, drink and our environment, and through our intrinsic chemistry.

Our bodies possess many different channels (strotamsi) such as large and small, through which nutrients and waste move. According to documentation the human body has fourteen channels: These are primary channels of the human body; three of them deal with nutrition from outside, seven deal with tissue nutrition; and remaining channels deal with the elimination of wastes.

 AYURVEDA TREATMENTS, AYURVEDA

Ayurveda is regarded a "whole medical system" in that it encompasses a complete system of theory and practice that has evolved independently from or parallel to allopathic (conventional) medicine. Ayurveda "whole medical system" is based on three essential humours, which cause disease if they become imbalanced.

  • The treatments follow a ritual that includes:
  • Balancing the dosha
  • Increasing the power of digestion
  • Maintaining proper elimination of wastes
  • Enhancing immunity
  • Developing a spiritual temperament.
  • Types of Therapies

Ayurveda practitioners firmly believes that prevention is better than cure and through a system of powerful therapies and remedies, you can detoxify and purge or cleanse impurities and yet the treatments leave you relax or get energised depending on the treatment chosen.

Many ayurvedic practitioners find it to be a very powerful natural healing science that is comprised of treatments utilizing only what is found in nature. The healing practice can be used to help cleanse our bodies of the toxins that build up from poor dietary habits, stress and  unbalanced lifestyle. The principle believes that one cannot overindulge, as well as be overly restricted, as this will ultimately pass on to the onset of ill health in some shape or form.

Ayrvedic is a holistic alternative way of thinking and, can provide endless benefits to those who follow the therapies as they are geared toward relaxation, revitalizing the spirit and rejuvenation.
Examples include:

  • Yoga
  • Meditation
  • Relaxation Therapy
  • Hot Stone Therapy
  • Massage
  • Proper Diet
  • Reduce Weight
  • Meditation
  • Internal Cleansing
  • Bowel Cleansing
  • Sweat Therapy
  • Ayurvedic herbal medicines

Ayuvedic can be at first glance a little complicated, and may require a little research if you wish to delve deeper into the benefical properties of this "whole body alternative system." Many therapies utilized in Ayurveda are also used individually and are gaining popularity in the United States, as a beneficial natual healthy remedies.
